Some members emailed me to say they couldn't make it. Among them was Enid, who sent me this lovely picture of six of the 10 jumpers she's knitted. We are a talented bunch!
Alicia gave the group some very positive feedback on her search for an alternative venue for our annual 'away weekend'. Having had no replies from some hotels, and an extremely expensive quote from another, the list has been whittled down to one.
Belstead Brook Hotel, Suffolk (near Ipswich) has offered us a deal that we feel we can't refuse. Half-board (Bed, full English breakfast, and three course evening meal) for £42 in a shared (twin or double) room, or £52 for a single room. Providing there are 20 or more of us, we can have the use of a meeting room for our knitting at no extra charge.
The proposed dates for the away weekend are Friday 8th November - Sunday 10th November. Car sharing available.
Ipswich offers many attractions for our group, including a yarn shop. For those who preferred to stay in the hotel grounds, there is a leisure center that includes a gym, spa, and swimming pool.
Our next meeting is on 1st February. We are having our annual New Year's lunch at the Sun after the meeting. Any member who hasn't already indicated that they would like lunch, please email me.
